Petition to help save Trove

Members may remember an item in the January 2023 issue of Trails about the threat to Trove's budget as from 1 July 2023. If the Federal Government does not fully fund this most important resource, Trove may disappear entirely.

There is an e-petition on the Parliament of Australia website - here - to request that the Government fully fund Trove. The petition closes for signatures on 22 February 2023. Please consider adding your name to it. Please also pass on word of the petition to your friends and family - not just those in the family history community. Thanks.

Ancestry.com special (50% discount) until 9 January 2023

Ancestry.com has a 50% discount on its UK Heritage Plus and Worldwide 12 month subscriptions. The special is only on for a short time - it expires 11.59 AEDT, 9 January 2023.

NSW BDM transcriptions on sale Christmas2022

NSW transcription agents, Joy Murrin and Marilyn Rowan, have reduced the cost of full transcriptions of births, deaths & marriages, at present.

Transcriptions will cost $18 instead of the usual $20. Marilyn's special applies until midnight on 2 January 2023. It is unclear how long Joy's special lasts.
