The National Library of Australia (NLA) is changing its login process.

From Monday 20 November, the NLA is changing the way people login to its catalogue and eResources. This change will make access to the NLA online services quicker, easier for new users and more secure for everyone.

MyHeritage offer of DNA tests for adoptees

As part of its RootsTech 2023 offerings, MyHeritage is donating 5000 DNA kits to adoptees and family members searching for people who were adopted. Anyone who is over the age of 18 and meets that criteria is welcome to apply from now until 17 March 2023.

You will need to register to use Newspapers.com however registration is free.

Petition to help save Trove

Members may remember an item in the January 2023 issue of Trails about the threat to Trove's budget as from 1 July 2023. If the Federal Government does not fully fund this most important resource, Trove may disappear entirely.

There is an e-petition on the Parliament of Australia website - here - to request that the Government fully fund Trove. The petition closes for signatures on 22 February 2023. Please consider adding your name to it. Please also pass on word of the petition to your friends and family - not just those in the family history community. Thanks.
